Scrapbook Savvy March BIG Sketch Challenge

I was the first of the ranks from the DT girls to share my take on this month's sketch challenge.

This is now Savvy's only monthly challenge.

A DT member choses a member's page from the gallery and then creates a sketch based on that page. It is pretty simple and to make it exciting, it has a MASSIVE $40 store voucher with free post as the prize!
So easy to play along.
This month Tara has chosen a layout by Helen to base her sketch on.

WOW March New Releases

It it that time of the month again over at WOW!
The team have been hard at work creating new chipboard pieces, AltaMATZ and the very new AltaWORDS.
Lots of new goodies to thrill and inspire you.

I've been busy scrapping over the past  few days and have put together three pages using the new chipboard to share with you today.

First up, I have put the title 'Ancestry' through its paces, creating a page for my son which features photos of  4 generations of family. I am really pleased with the look of the chipboard, lots of experimenting with this one!
It was given a base coat of brown paint, then a layer of crackle paint and a final coat of cream paint. Once that process had completely dried, I used Metallic rub in gold and bronze and inks to antique the finish a little more before applying the final coat of Glossy Accents.

Your Ancestry

The next page is fun and bright and the chipboard pieces were the perfect additions.
This is a beautiful moment captured between my boy and one of his younger cousins.
She just adores him!
To jazz up this page, I have used some luscious lips from the Hugs & Kisses Pack and the word 'Love' from the Life Elements Word Pack 1. They have all been inked using red Brilliance Ink and then rubbed with some forever red Perfect Pearls. The final finish is, of course, a coat of Glossy Accents. I really should have shares in this stuff, but I think it was a must when you adding some beautiful chipboard Lips to your page.

This is Love

Page number three is another magic moment captured with the cousins together just being creative and getting along. I have used some more words from the same Life Elements Word Pack 1, 'Remember', 'Today' and 'Smile'. They have been simply inked with colours that co-ordinated well with the patterned papers and believe it or not, No glossy accents :)

A little bit of WOW to pass the time

Over the past few weekends when there have been no deadlines due and I've had a bit of free time, I have dragged out some of my supplies and my treasure box full of WOW and just scrapped!
It is relaxing and actually very therapeutic for me. This working full-time business at the moment is tiring and a little mind altering. I haven't really achieved a lot, but some pages done are better than none, right?.

The first page features my son and his best friend starting grade three this year.
They have been mates since they started school in 2009 and have been lucky enough to be in the same class each year.

I have used the WOW title 'My Buddy' WOW1041, given it a base coat of red ink and then dusted the edges with my trusty pinecone ink. Pretty simple but just perfect for my page.

 photo _DSC0003-20_zpsd48dfa6a.jpg

My Buddy

The next page was just a random photo taken at a family gathering where all the children were kicking back in the recliners. Obviously an extremely tiring affair for them!! But it gave me a bit of a giggle putting the page together cause the title for the page was just so fitting.

This time I have put the WOW Pennant Banner WOW1646 to good use to form the base for my title. Chipboard has been inked with black and then mounted on foam tape for a little dimension.

Gold Call at Grandmas

That's it for now.
I hope you can check back here tomorrow to see the latest and greatest from WOW with the March new releases.
