Just having fun

I haven't done a huge amount of scrapping over the past week or so, but I have managed to get a few pages done.
I am still loving scrapping with christmas papers ATM, as you can see and I have been able to squeeze one more layout from my Savvy DT kit.

With so many Christmas photos to scrap, I have been blog surfing for some double page inspiration to get me started. I didn't have too look far, I came across the fantastic sketch site Inspired Blueprints and their 2 double sketches for this month.
I've got one finished and hope to get the other one done tonight.

I can't share one of my pages yet, but I have also done my last Kraft It Up challenge sample. You will see it on the blog sometime Saturday.

I guess this will probably be my last post for 2010, sounds weird!
This year has just flown past so quickly, I hope 2011 will slow down a bit.
I am looking forward to the New Year and whatever it brings.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Scrapbook Savvy December Cybercrop

Are you looking for a creative way to unwind from the past few weeks?
Over at Scrapbook Savvy we have decided to make the most of the public holidays and celebrate our Post Christmas Cybercrop!

Loads of fun challenges from the DT and I have put together a Trivia Quiz to stimulate the mind as well.

There is plenty of time for you to play along.
The Trivia Quiz closes Midnight tomorrow (28/12) and the challenges are not due to be uploaded until Midnight Sunday January 2nd.

Who wouldn't want the opportunity to win some Savvy dollars or a yummy RAK from me :)

My challenge is to create a single or double page capturing '2010 at a glance'.
Use 12 photos, one from each month of this year, to capture some-one or something from this year.
You can scrap about yourself, your family, your kids or your scrapping.

My subject, of course is my gorgeous boy! But I will do a scrapping review at some stage too.

Scrapbook Savvy DT - My Mind's Eye Believe

Sarah sent this gorgeous collection to me on Thursday and I have to say it is even better IRL!! Just love the embossed glitter on each page!
It is so amazing, it has flown out of the shop.

So since it arrived I have been busting to sit down and scrap over the weekend, but at this time of year there is always so much happening.
But I did finally manage early last night to get things out and I have been scrapping my, not so little, butt off ever since, only stopped briefly to eat and chat on facebook.
This collection is so easy to put together, I had 3 pages done in about 5 hours.

He's finally here
Yes I know the 'H' is missing, I have already retrieved it and put it back on the page.

Not much happening

I had big plans to scrap the week away, but it just hasn't happened.
With Christmas shopping and entertaining Harrison, the days have flown by.
I did manage to do a couple of pages, but I can only share one with you ATM.
Thought I would play along with Stuck?! Sketches this month, I have finished Dec 15th sketch, just need to glue down Dec 1st.

And what page of mine would be complete without including some of my favourite 2 Crafty chipboard pieces!
I have used Skulls1 and a Cog Border to mask my background using glimmermist. I then put the skulls to good use and added them to my page outlining them with black pen.
You can also spot a Lusius Swirl lightly inked and a couple of pieces from the School Icon pack, coloured with a Sharpie pen.

December challenge @ 2 Crafty

Time again for a new challenge on the 2 Crafty blog
This month Anthea has kept it simple and extended the deadline to give everyone a chance to play along.

Scrap a project, it can be a single or double page or even a mini album.
The subject is totally up to you, the only catch for you?
Include 3 or more pieces of 2 Crafty chipboard on your project.
Your project needs to be linked up to the Linky on the sidebar of the blog by midnight January 15 2011
We look forward to seeing your projects!

I decided to do a double page, so I pulled out my ever-growing stash of yummy 2 Crafty chipboard and went to work.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole creative adventure.
There was ink and stickles everywhere, but that was part of the fun :)

Nest of Hearts - Two tone inking and some sparkle added to a few hearts with stickles.

Photobucket

Butterflies - I used two colours in Brilliance Inks for easy blending and stickles for added bling.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bird Cage1 - Brilliance Ink and then added Distress stickles to part of the cage and bird.

Photobucket

Rustic Tree - Inked with a few different shades of green ink for the leaves, brilliance ink and marvvy pen for the branches and trunk. Finished it off with some Distress stickles and buttons

Photobucket

Frame Square borders - Covered with patterned paper, sides sanded for a little of distressing.

2 Crafty reveal - Fun in the tub

I have been suffering a case of scrapper's block this weekend.
We've had issues with Harrison's class placement for next year and had to submit a document with our concerns to the Principal. It won't be looked at until next week, so we just have to sit and wait. Really plays with your creative thoughts.

But I have eventually pulled myself together and created a fun page for the 2 Crafty blog using the title piece Fun in the tub. The chipboard piece has been brought to life using a bit of paint, some chalks for the colour, stickles and lots of punched circles.
I tried to give it a watery look with a coat of glossy accents.

And how cute does my little guy look! It seems so long ago he was that size.

More to share

Well I haven't been hugely productive today, but I have managed one page with my yummy December He's Savvy kit from Scrapbook Savvy. It features a mixture of Basic Grey Marjolaine and Fancy Pants Hot Chocalate and loads of embellies.

A peaceful place

And
Just remembered I haven't shared the sketch I did for Bella Blvd.
I still have a few project to be featured on the blog over the next week or so

Playing with sketches

It has been a hot and sticky weekend
I really wanted to scrap the time away, but I didn't feel inspired enough to create pages from scratch. Which is very unlike me!
So I decided to surf the net, looking for some sketches that might give me the kick start I needed. I don't usually use sketches, but it seemed the easiest way for me to get started.

Overall I am pretty happy with the end result, I got to scrap and they don't look too bad LOL!! I managed to finish three pages in a few hours of scrapping on Saturday and Sunday night. Hopefully I can do some more today :)

All pages feature the gorgeous collection Echo Park Papers - Little Boy

2 Crafty Reveal - Catch me Dad

How cool are these Thought bubbles from 2 Crafty!!
It was one of those rare moments when you see an embellishment and are instantly inspired.
Decided to go for a very simple chipboard technique for this page and covered the bubbles with some plain coloured paper and then doodle a border with my black gel pen.
It's fun being able to record the conversation my boys were having while playing football. Love the finished page.

Just cause

I meet with some friends at LSS a few weeks ago to scrap for a few un-interrupted hours. I am not very good scrapping away from home, so I took my unfinished retreat pages with me in the hope of getting them done. I was pretty successful with them and even managed to scrap a new page using October's We're Savvy kit and a sketch from Inspired Blueprints

Thankful

Scrap the Boys December challenge one

This month we have taken inspiration from some of Santa's reindeers.
We want to see photos of your boys strutting their stuff either in general or on the dance floor. Is he a dancer or a prancer?

Use linky here on the original post to upload your page by the end of December to be in the running for the prizes.

Harrison loves to dance, not sure where he learnt to swing those hips, but he looks pretty cute doing it.

Link it up by Midnight December 31st to be eligible for judging.

Scrapbook Savvy November cybercrop

Better late than never!

At Scrapbook Savvy we held our November CC last weekend. Loads of fun and fabulous challenges from all of the DT. I even managed to do Sara's challenge and Sar's blind challenge. You still have an hour to get the challenges done.

My challenge was to scrap a Christmas page using a song title or the lyrics for your title. Added criteria for your page, use stars, circles and glitter.

Making spirits bright

Using Kaisercraft - Be Merry collection

Photobucket

Sara's challenge was to scrap a Christmas page using non-christmas papers. I scrapped photos from our city pageant this year. Lots of colour so went for the gorgeous collection from WRMK.

This is magic

Photobucket

We did Sar's Blind challenge on Sunday night and had a blast!! Grabbed my old and trusty BG Wassills papers with are my all time favourite! Surprisingly mine looks fairly close to the real version Sar did.

Your christmas smile

Sorry Anthea, sitting on my fat butt is not going to get your challenge finished tonight. But I promise to share it when I am done.

2 Crafty - Santa Photo

I am getting into the spirit of Christmas early this year. Thought I would pull out an older photo to start the scrapping festivities.
There are many fabulous 2 Crafty Christmas chipboard pieces to choose from, thought I would tackle to Shopping Santa first. Kept the colours very traditional, using inks and gel pens to decorate him and his presents.

Photobucket

I had to use Santas List, tried to age it a little with inks and crackle paint. Love the end result.

Photobucket

Finally, I grabbed the Santa Photo chipboard title, put on some ink, crackle paint and stickles for frosting.

Photobucket

Here is my gorgeous boy at 2 and a half years of age, where has the time gone?

2 Crafty reveal - Mishief and Mayhem

I absolutely love 2 Crafty's Halloween release and thankfully Harrison loves dressing up for the occasion.
I've used the gorgeous Grinning Pumpkins on my page bringing them to life with some gel pens, inks, glimmermist and stickles.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Also grabbed a few Monsters and decorated them with pencils, gel pens, glossy accents and glitter.
Can you tell I had fun!
